Belvas is one of the few chocolatiers in the world that produces chocolate that is fully traceable and certified Fairtrade, and that aims to reduce the impact of its production on the environment. Over the past 15 years, the company has tirelessly pursued its mission to improve the living conditions of chocolate producers and remunerate them above the Fairtrade standards. Today, Belvas processes cocoa at an ecological production plant in Ghislenghien, Belgium. It uses traditional methods to work its ingredients without adding preservatives, artificial coloring and flavoring or flavor enhancers. Belvas' latest project is the construction of a factory in the Ivory Coast that will process the cocoa beans directly on site. Why the Ivory Coast? Because, today, it is one of the biggest cocoa producers in the world but it also remains one of the poorest countries in the world.
